Rep. Ted Lieu disses the victims of Sutherland Springs, Texas

Once again we’ve had another mass killing.  This week it wasn’t with a truck.  It was with guns.  And as expected, before people could even get out of the hospital, people are politicizing the event to their gain.

Representative Ted Lieu of ( you guessed it… ) California, made it a point to walk out of a moment of silence in Congress for the victims.  He claimed he did it because he just couldn’t remain silent any more.  That whole minute was too much to ask for apparently.  As soon as he got back to his office he began to tweet.  And subsequently had this to offer:

Ok, so he was probably going along OK until he hit that plug for purely partisan participation, “help Dems take back the House”.

Now, my primary gripe is the same with the kneeling NFL players.  They don’t get why their message is being lost by them disrespecting the national anthem and those people who consider it something very important in their lives.  Their intentional disrespect overwhelms the message itself.  They could have publicly made appearances voicing their problems.  The NFL literally falls all over itself when being painted in a socially acceptable ( politically correct ) manner.  There’s ALL kinds of ways they could have positively gotten their message across without intentionally upsetting most of the people they expect to support them.

Same with this asswipe.  He’s expecting people to know that intentionally disrespecting the victims of Sutherland will get his message across so loud and clear no one will care that he dissed the deceased.  That’s worked so well in the past for, whoever it was that walked out of the moment of silence for the Las Vegas victims.  People stormed DC to show their support for those members of Congress who could not find it in themselves to give those victims one minute of respect.  Well, no, actually no one did that.  Most people just wrote about how disgusting they were and their opposition to the NRA was immediately overwhelmed by their crass heartless purely political actions.

Same with Ted.  He couldn’t wait 24 hours after his performance to tout his party affiliation.  Los Angeles, you’ve given us another problem.  We just don’t need more assholes in public positions.  Can you people not elect one person that puts ethics over party?  Please?  Is it too much to ask to put your partisan politics to the side to at the very least show respect for the victims?

Sheez.  Disgusting
